Control system for a variable period undulator prototype

چکیده
Abstract The magnetic structure of the proposed variable period undulator consists cylindrical magnets. Each magnet can be rotated by a small stepper motor, in order to adjust field and form an arbitrarily shaped profile on-axis. Meanwhile, short prototype exists, equipped with scalable control system drive large amount motors. This paper describes details implementation, results tests on different rotary encoder concepts for positioning feedback, first measurements prototype.
